Foreign nationals operating in Johannesburg’s CBD have condemned what they call ‘serious human rights violations’ perpetrated by heavy-handed police officers.

These denunciations come in the wake of severe upheaval in the city-centre, which, on Thursday, erupted into a full-scale riot. Gauteng law enforcement agencies descended on the CBD as part of operation Okae Molao, with the aim to crackdown on counterfeit goods.
