Let’s get one thing straight: Mzansi is a beautiful country with a lot to offer, especially for those choosing to migrate here. However, it seems fewer people are moving to South Africa, as a recently-released HSBC report put it third-bottom in a list of popular emigration destinations.

Of the 31 countries surveyed, SA ended up in 29th – propped up only by Japan and Brazil. The result marks South Africa’s worst performance on the HSBC Expat Report since its inception in 2013.

It turns out Singapore is now the most popular destination for people wanting to work abroad. Not for the number of movers, but for the quality of life. The South-Asian country has more millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the world, and those who get the chance to move there very rarely pass up the opportunity.
